Major Signing for Glimt's New Stadium

FK Bodø/Glimt is in the midst of the biggest transformation in the club’s history. Now, an important step is being taken toward making this a reality. Bodø/Glimt can confirm that PowerOffice has signed an agreement and will become one of the largest tenants in the commercial section of Ny Arena.

At the same time, Glimt’s administration is proposing that PowerOffice also become the naming rights partner for the new arena. The proposal will be presented to the board as an option leading up to the club’s annual meeting, where the final decision will be made.

An important milestone

The fact that PowerOffice has now signed on as a tenant marks a significant milestone in the stadium project. The lease agreement is a key component in laying the groundwork for the realization of the club’s new home.

PowerOffice is a rapidly growing company based in Bodø, with clear values and ambitions that extend far beyond the region. Both the company and Bodø/Glimt are committed to people, culture, development, and community, and this has been a key factor in the dialogue between the parties.

“We’re really looking forward to moving into ‘ Ny Arena ’ together with PowerOffice. Sharing a building with one of Bodø’s most innovative and value-driven companies opens up exciting opportunities for collaboration and further development,” says Frode Thomassen, general manager of FK Bodø/Glimt.

For PowerOffice, the move itself is primarily about paving the way for further growth.

“We’ve experienced strong growth in recent years and need a new framework to continue growing. Ny Arena provides us with the space, the framework, and an environment in which we have great confidence for the future,” says Lise Mentzoni, CEO of PowerOffice.

A joint project

For Bodø/Glimt, it is important to find partners for the arena who want to do more than just rent space. When PowerOffice also expressed a desire to actively contribute to the realization of Ny Arena, an opportunity arose that was greater than the club had initially anticipated.

PowerOffice has made it clear that its involvement is not just about visibility. The company wants to help build something bigger than itself—something for the club, for the city, and for the people who will use the arena.

That is why PowerOffice is also joining as one of the founders of Ny Arena, with a clear focus on social responsibility and community, and the establishment of Stjernelosjen is a central part of this commitment.

Honoring the heroes who deserve it

The Star Lounge is a completely unique concept at Ny Arena. It is a “tunnel club”-inspired lounge aimed at children, young people, and families facing challenging life situations, and is affiliated with Nordland Hospital. On game days, this is meant to be a sanctuary where illness, treatment, and worries can be left behind for a while. The lounge is located indoors and offers good seating out in the stands, ensuring that families have a complete and safe game-day experience.

The fact that PowerOffice wants to help establish Stjernelosjen says a lot about the values the company stands for. This commitment is about creating a desire to live here and stay here, and about taking an active role in social responsibility.

Proposes a new stadium name

As a natural extension of this partnership, the management of FK Bodø/Glimt, in close consultation with PowerOffice, has developed a proposal for a new arena name:PowerOffice Arctic Arena.

In this regard, PowerOffice has indicated a willingness to contribute a higher amount for the naming rights than what was previously included in the club’s financing plan, should this become the preferred name. This will definitely help secure the financing for the new arena.

The name combines local roots with an international identity. “Arctic” highlights where Bodø/Glimt and PowerOffice come from and the power found in the north, while also representing the ambitions both parties have far beyond the region’s borders.

The annual meeting has the final say

Executive Director Frode Thomassen places great emphasis on transparency and member democracy.

– It was the annual meeting that gave the club the mandate to explore the sale of naming rights, and it is the annual meeting that will now decide on the proposal for PowerOffice Arctic Arena.

The club is also planning a members' meeting in January or February, where this matter will be presented in more detail and discussed, along with other relevant and current issues. Input from the members will be taken into account in the further work leading up to the final consideration by the board and at the annual meeting.
